As a therapist, my aim is to take the time to clearly understand your history, difficulties, strengths, and goals, and then to work together to build a treatment plan tailored to your unique circumstances. Throughout this process, I work to provide an empathetic and non-judgmental space because I believe this is what we all need in order to truly learn about ourselves and make changes that help us continue to grow.

I provide individual counseling services to adolescents (12 y/o +) and adults. I help families to improve their functioning and repair relationships. I help individuals navigate the pitfalls of depression, anxiety, and major life changes. I also have a specialty in aiding veterans and others to recover from traumatic experiences that left them lost, isolated, and overwhelmed. Most recently, I worked within rural communities to help individuals recover from substance abuse and the impacts it has had on their lives. I often work with clients who have never before tried counseling, and I am especially passionate about providing services to individuals from rural backgrounds who I believe have been chronically underserved by the mental health field.

The diversity of my training and experience has led me to an integrative approach to therapy. I flexibly apply Cognitive-Behavioral, emotion-focused, and other approaches in order to provide treatment that is both suited to your needs and makes the most of your particular strengths.

There are lots of reasons to start therapy. Whether you seek to overcome an obstacle life has thrown at you, to work through experiences that you feel are holding you back, or even just to feel like yourself again, you deserve to be happy. In order to do that you must be heard and valued for who you really are. This is why the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the greatest predictor of treatment success, and why I encourage you to work with a therapist who makes you feel understood and genuinely valued.
